Jan 1999 - Sep 2001: Hertfordshire County Council – County Hall

  • Installation of 93 new computers and connectivity to 39 sites
  • Provision of IT training for Social Services Director, Managers and Teams
  • Onsite installation of Lotus Notes Email Client

Apr 1994 - Dec 1998: Hertfordshire County Council – Social Services – Bishops Stortford

Jul 1993 - Mar 1994: Horizon NHS Trust – Harperbury – Radlett Herts

Service Manager – Special Needs Service Area responsibilities and accomplishments included:

  • Managed 150 staff (about one third of the hospital) – Managers, Consultants, Doctors, Nurses, Therapists, etc.
  • Managed Budget of £1.2m
  • Interviewed, recruited and built teams for Residential Homes, Therapy Departments and Day Services for people with Profound Learning Disabilities
  • Managed the resettlement of people into the community and ward closures, redeployment of staff
  • Implemented monthly supervision and self-development for 17 managers
  • Implemented major changes to Day Services for the Elderly and people with Profound Learning Disabilities

Apr 1990 - Jun 1993: Horizon NHS Trust – Harperbury – Radlett Herts

Day Services Manager – The Jubilee Centre responsibilities and accomplishments included:

  • Planned, developed, implemented and promoted the new services of the Jubilee Centre – the first Day Service specifically catering for the needs of people with the most profound learning disabilities
  • Interviewed, recruited and built new staff team
  • Implemented monthly supervision and self-development for all staff
  • Created database for managing day service sessions

Sep 1986 - Mar 1990: North West Herts Health Authority – Harperbury Hospital – Radlett Herts

Senior l Music Therapist responsibilities and accomplishments included:

  • Worked with a weekly case load of over 70 people a week
  • Wide range of clinical experience including Children’s Diagnostic Unit, Elderly, Profound Learning Disability and Psychiatry
  • Initiated and involved with various Music Therapy Research Projects
  • Led many workshops around the country on the use of music
